My name is Rich Bartell, and I'm the owner of bartellonline.com. As mentioned in the about section of this website, where, by the way, you can also find an unusually flattering picture of me, I have nearly a quarter century <gulp> of information technology experience. I also have a Bachelors degree in Philosophy, a Masters in Business Administration, and more than 2100 skydives, though I haven't jumped in several years. I'm an Aries, but I don't believe in Astrology.
Maybe something, maybe nothing, but there's no charge to find out which. Basically, if you're an individual or small business and want to customize an Internet-based service of some kind, be it e-mail, web site hosting, domain name service, remote backup, or anything else, maybe we can help you out, contact us and find out.
Our servers are currently located at Network Operations Centers in California and New York in the United States and are controlled remotely. I personally currently reside in Hohhot, Inner Mongolia, China. You can read about some of my adventures here on my China stories pages. Before coming to China, I lived in the Rebublic of Armenia, where I served as a U.S. Peace Corps volunteer in Hrazdan, Armenia from 1996 to 1998 and later returned to Armenia to work as Information and Training Coordinator for the United Methodist Committee on Relief (UMCOR) in Yerevan. That's easy: as soon as possible. How long is that? Tougher question, generally within a day or two unless you get an automated reply about a longer absence.
We can speak by phone when necessary, but we don't include a phone number on the website or encourage phone inquiries because it's far more productive for us to schedule time to reply to e-mail inquiries than to handle telephone interruptions. This also minimizes telephone toll charges and time zone complications.
Every job is custom, and we give a custom quote for every job. Setup/customization fees will depend on factors such as the estimated time needed to do the work and the estimated usefulness of the work in future jobs. Hosting/serving quotes will depend on factors such as bandwidth, disk space, processor time, and system maintenance requirements.
